   Energy Conservation
 Energy has been universally recognised as one of the as one of the most important input for any economic growth and human development. Considering universal energy access and energy security as one of the fundamental development goals for the country, the Govt. of India has undertaken a multi prolonged approach to cater the rising energy demand ensuring minimum growth in carbon emission. Energy Efficiency plays a significant role in meeting the rising energy demand in a sustainable manner..

The Energy Conservation Act (EC Act), 2001 was enacted on 1st October 2001(effect on 1st March 2002) with the overall objective to provide necessary legal framework for promoting efficient use energy and its conservation Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) was setup by the Govt. of India with mandate to develop and implement energy efficiency schemes and programs under the provisions of Energy Conservation Act, 2001. Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has initiated a numbers of programs such as Standard & Leveling(S&L), Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC), and Certification of Energy Managers& Auditors, Perform, Achieve & Trade Scheme (PAT).
